Hi, hello! Long time no see! My life has been okay, not the most instagrammable but okay. I went hiking with friends in Lorch Rheingau, Hessen! The course is quite easy for beginners as it's not rocky and it only took half an hour to go up to the top. But for first-timers like me, it is still quite a work out to hike up Lorch. But is it worth it? yes.

My friends made this trip more special as we spent the whole time talking, making jokes, and just laughing the day away. We even had a small picnic on top and played games. Thank you for taking me on this day trip!

And as for life update:
I have been going to the gym to be fit and hopefully be summer-ready on time

I have started drinking wine.
Which is something I didn't understand
Now I understand
it's sweet like beginnings
to cure bitter endings
and erase resentful memories

Out of vacation ideas? One of the best European travel destinations is the Netherlands! The Netherlands is such a unique travel destination full of beautiful places to travel to and take pictures of, guaranteeing you a lot of likes in Instagram! This beautiful country would be on your travel bucket list. I visited some of them during my Erasmus + exchange programme in The Hague University of Applied Sciences and compiled a Netherlands travel guide just for you!

netherlands travel beautiful places

1. OUDE KERK, DELFT

Oude Kerk / Old Church is located in a big square in Delft with a picturesque view on every side. Stedelijk Museum Het Prinsenhof / Museum of William of Orange & his times with its iconic red windows is also located in this square, just across the old church tower. There are also a lot of cute cafes and souvenir shops to buy delft blue pottery goods. Definitely, a must visit. I would really recommend Delft as a unique travel destination for couples.

2. KEK - DE KOFFIEBAR VAN DELFT , DELFT

I and my best friend Jacqueline have a soft spot for cute cafes and Kek is definitely a new favourite. Kek serves instagrammable dishes, coffee, and even has a juice bar. The interior is cutely decorated with quirky vintage items, which you can buy and take home with you. The food tastes really nice and their coffee and latte art are top notch. Kek would be a great place to experience modern dutch food and coffee in the Netherlands. Beware of long lines in peak hours because this place is almost always packed! Worth to wait for :D

3. Scheveningen Beach, Den Haag

Scheveningen is one of the most famous Dutch beach and most beloved by locals. This place has a very special place because I usually go there whenever the weather is sunny enough, no matter how cold/windy it is. The view in this Netherlands Beach is just to die for, especially on the boardwalk. It's not so packed in autumn/winter but I heard that it's very crowded in summer. This The Hague Beach is filled withRestaurants, cafes, and food stalls are easy to spot wherever you go. Some of my friends even go surfing on this beach. Be sure to put this in your things to do in The Hague list!

4. Markthal ,  Rotterdam

Rotterdam is famous for its modern architecture and Markthal is one of the most famous architecture there. It's an indoor market filled with food stalls and places to hang out in.  They have all sorts of food such as fries, cheese, bubble tea, pastries and many more. Bram Laddage Fries with special sauce are worth to try while visiting Markthal. The square where Market Hall is located, is also filled with other tourist attractions like cube house so you don't need to walk far to visit all the tourist attractions in Rotterdam. Read more information in my ROTTERDAM DAY TRIP post.

5. JAPANESE GARDEN , DEN HAAG

Japanese Garden is a part of Clingendael Gardens in Den Haag. It is filled with fragile plants and architecture elements, brought back especially from Japan by Lady Daisy of Clingedael Estate in the 20th Century. However, it is only open 8 weeks per year due to its fragile nature.
Check DenHaag.com for the opening dates.

This is not the ordinary place to visit when you visit Den Haag. The Japanese garden is a part of Clingendael Garden which has a lot of types of beautiful gardens. I took the time to visit it last Saturday with my flatmate, Eric.

The Japanese Garden was created in the beginning of the 20th century by the former owner of the country estate of Clingendael, Marguérite M. Baroness van Brienen (1871-1939), also called Lady Daisy. Lady Daisy undertook several voyages by ship to Japan. She brought back to the Netherlands a number of lanterns, a water cask, sculptures, the little bridges and possibly the pavilion. It is the only Japanese Garden in the Netherlands from around 1910 and therefore has a high historical value.  (source : Den Haag.nl )

The Japanese Garden is only opened once or twice a year, due to its fragile nature. I was very lucky to visit it when it was opened. There are a few Japanese features in the garden, making it feel very unique. The fallen and red leaves make the garden even looks more magnificent.

As some of you guys might know, especially if you follow my instagram (@veenation),  i'm in The Hague, Netherlands for one Erasmus semester. I'm studying European Studies in The Hague University of Applied Sciences. I haven't been travelling a lot because my schedule is more packed in Term 1 than what i expected but i went to Rotterdam with three of my Indonesian friends for a day trip! Rotterdam has a lot of interesting modern architecture situated in the city centre.

This is not your traditional market building. The building looks really beautiful from the outside and inside. They painted some art into the curved roof part, that adds a really unique twist to the market. The stalls are all very modern and very hip; selling varieties of food. I even had bubble milk tea / boba there.

Ghislaine recommended us to eat lunch in this vietnamese place called Little V. It has really cute interior inspired by vietnamese street vendors. They also serve the food in very creative settings such as this tin lunch box that i ordered. I have to say that this place is really authentic in their cooking, lots of fresh and wonderful spices and a lot of options. Would love to go back again for dinner and explore their dinner menu sometime in the future!

Now onto the outfit part!

I was thinking of A Pink inspired fall outfit; feminine and elegant yet expressing some fall vibes.

I just got back from visiting my extended family in Semarang and Jogjakarta over the weekend and had some time to meet up with Nia from Deniathly.com in this lovely place called Honje Resto Jogjakarta. Heard this place from fellow bloggers in Jakarta and decided to check it out!

Iced Caffee Latte
It's actually good. It's not too sweet and you can still taste the strong coffee (a sign that this is not an instant product).

This is a mixture of kecombrang syrup and lemonade with limes. The taste is quite interesting. It's sweet and refreshing at the same time.

This beautifully plated spring roll is filled with duck fillet and a mixture of vegetable. It's savoury and really nice to have if you're looking for a light bite.
