January Obsessions : Beauty,Books,Music,Fashion Recommendations

by - January 24, 2014

2014 is going too fast for me. January will come to an end next week as we are all still in some kind of holiday mood. As a senior high school student, i will face the exams really really soon (NOOOOO) and now i'm doing a lot of try-outs for the exams. Staying up late to study and waking up feeling like corpse. Anywayy, January has very very lovable things! In this post i compile what i'm obsessed with this January. Beauty, books, music, fashion, i got all that recommendations covered! ;)

1. Revlon's Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain
Balm stain is such a trend these days after Clinique released their chubby stick. Revlon made their own chubby stick twist with their Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain. I am not utterly obsessed with make up nor a beauty guru but i have to say that after i got a flyer for these, i fell in love with them. I got one already in Honey (shade 001) and the color is just so cute for everyday wear! It's easy to apply as they are shaped like huge crayons and they also leave a peppermint scent and tingle on your lips! so cool!

2. Original Source's British Strawberry Shower
I have never been a fan of super fruity or sweet scents for beauty products but British Strawberry Shower is just too good! It has a strong strawberry scent (duh!) and leaves you with a pretty hydrated skin. Even though the smell is great, i have to say that the packaging is what i love most! The Union Jack design fits perfectly with the shower gel's color <3

3. Masami Shouko 6 Piece Brush Set
As a make up newbie, i haven't had a complete set of brush for simple make ups so i was really really happy to find this brush set in Zalora.co.id . The price is 200k, which is pretty decent for 6 brushes with a leather case. I have to say that this set is really really awesome for rookies like me because it includes powder brush, brow brush, eye shadow brush, blending brush, and eye liner brushes. The material of the brush is also great. The brush is so soft to the skin (which made me obsessed with them) and the brush handle is really user friendly, so easy to work with them.

1. The Great Gatsby by F.Scott Fitzgerald
I know i'm super late to discover this amazing classic novel but i can't help it. It's never too late to read something right? The story completely blows me away, and to realize that it is a metaphor for life and surviving the economy in the 1920s is just...wow. It's now absolutely one of my favorite books.

2. Looking for Alaska by John Green
John Green's works never cease to amaze me. I have read The Fault in Our Stars, Looking for Alaska,Paper Towns, and Abundance of Catherine so far and i completely loveee them all. As a hardcore bookworm, i'm sick of the normal oh-so-romantic novels so Looking for Alaska is what i'm obsessed with right now. The story is down to earth and seems so real as if you live with them in Culver Creek College. It's all about teenage life, friends-love-fitting in-life problems and served just right. PS: the ending is not happy :p

1. Gary's MR.GAE
Gary from Leessang is back with his own solo hip hop album. Mr.Gae has only 4 songs in it which are Zotto Mola, Shower Later, Drunken Night Tunes, and Mr.Gae. Gary has always got a special place in my heart because i'm a Runningman fan and i'm familiar with Leessang's songs. However, this album reveals Gary's mature side with a completely different style of rapping. I'm giving this album 4 out of 5 stars. You should try listening to the main single Zotto Mola to get a taste of this amazing album!

2. Eric Nam's Cloud 9
Another Korean artist has also taken over my playlist this month with his album Cloud 9. I first encountered Eric Nam in Eat Your Kimchi channel in youtube. He won rookie of the year in 2013's Eat Your Kimchi awards and no doubt he won! He sings ballad romantic songs and has such a sweet voice. My favorite songs so far in the album is Heaven's Door and Love Song. What's unique about him is that he's not purely "Korean". He was born and raised in Toronto and moved back to Korea in his later years. So his English is really really great! Finally, a cute Korean idol that speaks English really well! :PP

1. Paris Couture Week
The week of high fashion is finally here! I've been keeping up with the latest fashion shows from Chanel to Juun J which for me were really breathtaking. But my favorite hands down is Dior's SS 14 Couture. The use of simple elements together with unique shapes and patterns makes the collection adorable. Only one sentence can describe it : I WANT ALL OF THEM! Beside the show, the street style is also so so inspiring. My two favorite street style warriors in PCW is definitely GD and Taeyang from Big Bang. The korean idols cause quite a stir in the couture week as their styles are really unique. Love love love them to the core!

2. Metal Elements in Persunmall (similar : bag & shoes)
The two items above caught my eye and struck my heart! I'm in such happy state right now because the  skull clutch is already in my hands. It's quite a popular item so it's so hard to get my hands of them. And for the platform lace-up boots, i can't stop looking at the bling lion head detail. These shoes are such a show stealer! No one can look away from it when you put your swag-est outfit on with these platform booties! Btw since Valentine day is coming up, Persunmall is having a valentine's day sale on their site! I have seen those Revlon Balm Stains and wondered about them. I am glad you liked them! I am wondering though, do you have to use a sharpener after using it so much? You can tweet me and let me know if you'd like. My username is "sheblog".
