Java Jazz 2012 Report
As i told you in the last post, i went to the annual Java Jazz festival on Saturday! It was superbly awesome and i just can't say any word for the superb performances on the day.
I did take some good quality photos when i luckily stand in front but i came late for some shows like Dira Sugandi and Dave Koz so my pictures are so not good! But above all the picture-taking rants, the shows were incredible and here's my review
1. Depapepe
2.Raisa
Definitely the best dressed performer of the night! I can't stop saying my love for her black sequin blazer and glitter pumps [ not shown! sorry :( ] . Her voice was surely good and i sing along to most of her hits like Serba Salah and Apalah Arti Menunggu. She's super stunning and gorgeous live!
3. Dave Koz

The Japanese guitarist duo has successfully makes me shout and clap all the way in their show. Even though they speak English and did try to speak Indonesian, i don't really get all what they said in the show because sometimes they spoke Japanese. They played most of the songs from the new album and the old ones like Start and Summer Parade. The best part was when Takuya (the one with yellow shirt) asked the audience to sing the part in Summer Parade. It was surely magical

As i told you i didn't get a front row position in his show and that's the worst part of my JJF. I didn't really expect Dave Koz to be that superb but when he played like the first ten notes i was already in love with his saxophone playing. The stage was alive and everybody's was having fun. Dave and his band can't stop moving around the stage, doing solos, and just makes everything magical. Btw, he received a Java Jazz hall of fame award in the middle of the show ;)
3. Dira Sugandi and Ricky Lionardi Jazz Orchestra

I watched a little bit of her after Dave Koz and the show was so packed with people! Dira's voice was...amazing. When she sang Georgia on My Mind, the improvisations was truly wonderful and her name is already a guarantee for a good show.
4. Gugun Blues Shelter

This is the last show that i watched, i didn't really know their songs but their playing surely blew me away. Gugun's voice and guitar solos were super super amazing! I clap and dances a little to their blues rhythm. Surely a good band to watch for!
Well, that's about all for my Java Jazz Report. Stay tuned for my JJF outfit post and don't forget to drop bombs cause i surely enjoyed myself!
